Did your kids watch Gin on Britain’s Got Talent with amazement? Would they like to teach your dog how do great tricks? Would you like them to learn how to train your dog?
Over the summer holidays, I will be running classes aimed specifically at helping children to train a dog. The children will learn about clicker training and how to use it to teach a dog a range of behaviours. Most of the content will revolve around teaching fun tricks as this is what kids seem to enjoy the most, but we will also remind them (and your dogs?!) of the basic exercises such as sit and down.
Each course will consist of three one hour-long lessons, with a few days to practise in between. Children must be accompanied by an adult, but if the children are old enough to manage the dog safely on their own the adult can feel free to sit back and watch or read a book rather than getting actively involved if they prefer!
The course will be held at my new venue in Redbourn (full details available very soon). The cost for the course will be £30 per dog, and more than one child can accompany each dog at no extra cost. There will be no more than 7 dogs in each group.
There are currently two courses planned but more will be added if there is enough demand. Dates of planned courses are below. Places must be booked in advance so if you would like to come along, or if you just want to know a bit more about the workshops, please get in touch!
